Linda Humble Roemer
Linda Humble Roemer has been creating commissioned portraits since she was in high school and still regards portraiture as her favorite subject. She is one of the few artists who also cut silhouettes free-hand. Many of her recent commissions have been in portraits of dogs, cats and horses.
Linda taught herself by observation and some Walter T. Forest instructional booklets. She took a drawing course at the American University in Washington, DC but did not major in art. Life kept her busy for many years but in 2012 she tried to rekindle her artistic talents and discovered that they still existed. She tried her hand at ceramics and for a few months, studied watercolor in a group class taught by Jane Lux.
She enjoys challenging herself and is exploring different subjects and media. Florals, landscapes and seascapes are new areas she is exploring.
