After an interest in art making beginning in childhood, Elaine Shor studied fine art at Brooklyn College, where she earned her baccalaureate degree in 1979. She then earned a Masters Degree from New York University and practiced art therapy for 27 years. Ms. Shor’s preferred medium is oil paint, and her focus is on the human form. Therefore, she often uses models while creating her figurative paintings. Her focus is on societal events and human relationships. She has exhibited her work in New York and in New Jersey.
